Mardi Gras Magic from Sew Preeti Quilts

Mardi Gras Magic was published in McCall’s Quilting March/April 2023.

Mardi Gras Magic

I used the Island Batik Fabric Line, Wild Blooms. Designed by Kathy Engle, it should be available in stores in May 2023.

I used Hobbs Black Batting, quilted using my walking foot and used a medium purple binding.
Mardi Gras Magic finished at about 60" by 80".

Kids Four-Leaf Clover Bag from Creatin' in the Sticks

I have a project full of luck to share today.

I'm over on the Thermoweb blog with a free pattern to craft a
Four-Leaf Clover Bag.
The perfect size to fill with chocolate gold coins for the littles or anyone
to celebrate the day of green.

These Kids Rainbow Four-Leaf Clover Bags are like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

Here is what I used to make the bags:

Heat-n-Bond® – Craft Extra Firm Fusible Interfacing to keep the bag in perfect shape no matter how much weight is added and, of course, HeatnBond Lite Fusible ...

Midweek: soda bread and elephants from With Strings Attached

As far as we are aware, we are not one speck Irish.  (We may be surprised when we receive the results of the Ancestry DNA tests. We spat in the vials and mailed them in about a month ago.)   I baked a loaf of soda bread this morning and have corned beef in the crock pot for tonight's supper.

That's cultural appreciation, not cultural appropriation.  I have never been to a St. Patrick's Day parade nor gone downtown to see the Chicago River dyed green.

A colleague posted her mother's soda bread recipe on Facebook last ...

Leprechaun Gnome from Made By Marney

I just returned from a little Florida get-away with 2 of my siblings.

After a beautiful week of 80 degrees and sunny skies, I returned home to this…

And now it’s back to designing…

To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, I’ve designed a new Gnome.

The LEPRECHAUN GNOME is a sweet little guy with a nose made from a fabric yoyo. So cute! This newest St. Patty’s block will join my other leprechaun creations:

LUCKY LEPRECHAUN is still one of my favorite St. Patty images. The smoke swirls are very suble, and are created from my free ...
